The world fears time, but time fears the pyramids.

Are you interested to bring a nanny from overseas? Are you aware of how long the process takes? Well, let me tell you. To get through the first step of this process you should allow 6 to 8 weeks for 'Service Canada' to provide you with their confirmation in the form of a 'positive labour market opinion' letter. After you completed their form and met all the other requirements, you can still lose the first round and that in case you have not 'dotted every i and crossed every t' the first time around. Yes, you have to start the whole thing all over again wait the results and hope for no surprises this time around.

Finally, you got your confirmation letter. You can breathe easy now. But not so for your nanny to be. Now it's her turn to do her application on her side of the border. If she is lucky and everything goes smoothly, consider 10 to 12 weeks as reasonable time to wait for her visa. If she lives behind some countries borders, the same process could take 18 to 24 months...... You may scratch your head asking why is that so. I'll tell you,... I don't know. I don't think anyone knows.

Well, get on the road and good luck to you. Hey, it's a long long road but you have to take the first step.
